Share a council
When a council finishes, you can take its transcript with you or open it to other people. The War Room offers three share actions from a single panel: copy the full transcript as Markdown to paste anywhere, download the transcript as a Markdown file, or make the council public and mint a link that anyone can open, signed in or not. This page is for War Room users on the Pro plan and above, and it covers copying a transcript, downloading it as a file, publishing a public link, and revoking that link. The custom instructions you wrote for your panelists are never included in any of them.
Before you begin
- Sharing applies to a session that has a saved record, which means a finished or stopped council. A session that has not run yet has nothing to share.
- Open the War Room from the AI Console. It is available on the Pro plan and above, and access is rolling out in waves, so an eligible account may not see it yet.
- Reach the Share panel from a session's replay: open a past council from Past councils (the History control in the header), which works on every device. Share sits in a replay's header controls; on a just finished session it appears with the session's closing controls on phones and tablets.
Steps
Every action lives in one panel, Share this War Room, under the line "Export the transcript or open the room to anyone with the link." Open the panel as described in Before you begin, then follow the path you need.
Copy the transcript as Markdown
Select Copy transcript as Markdown
In the Share panel, select Copy transcript as Markdown. It copies the whole transcript to your clipboard as a self-contained Markdown document and publishes nothing. A confirmation reads "Transcript copied as Markdown."
Paste it wherever you keep notes
Paste into any document that reads Markdown. Nothing is uploaded, and nothing leaves your device until you paste it yourself.
Download the transcript as a file
Select Download as Markdown file
In the Share panel, select Download as Markdown file. It saves the full transcript as a .md file whose title carries the session topic, and it publishes nothing.
Keep or share the file
The download is the dependable route for a very long session and for a tablet, where copying a large transcript to the clipboard is awkward. The saved file is complete, with no length cutoff.
Make the council public
Turn on Make public
In the Share panel, turn on the Make public switch. The room mints a shareable link that anyone can open, whether or not they are signed in, and reveals a link row. A confirmation reads "Link ready. Anyone with it can view this War Room."
Copy the public link
Select Copy link, which appears only while the room is public. The link is shown middle-truncated for tidiness and copied in full.
Send the link
Give the link to anyone you want to read the council. They open a read-only page of the transcript, with no account and no plan required.
Revoke a public link
Turn off Make public
In the Share panel, turn the Make public switch off. The room asks you to confirm before it takes the link down.
Confirm the revoke
The prompt reads "Revoke the public link?" and warns "Anyone who already has the link will lose access immediately." Select Revoke link to take it down, or Keep public to leave it on.
Read the confirmation
A confirmation reads "Public link revoked." Every copy of the old link stops working at once.
Outputs
Sharing gives you one of two things, a portable file or a public page, described in the following list.
- A Markdown export: a self-contained document that carries the whole transcript and the synthesis and publishes nothing. It is complete, with no length cutoff, and is available either as a clipboard copy or as a downloaded .md file you can paste or keep anywhere that reads Markdown.
- A public link: a read-only page of the transcript. It shows the topic, the full debate and synthesis, a "Run your own War Room" prompt, and a "Shared via GNG Research" footer with the date you shared it. It is kept out of search results, and anyone with the link can open it whether or not they have an account.
- What is never shared: the custom instructions you wrote for your panelists, their personas, are excluded from both the Markdown export and the public view. Only the debate, the host's round openers, and the synthesis are included.
- A friendly page for a dead link: once you revoke a link, or if a link is otherwise invalid, it opens a panel titled "This War Room isn't available." with the note "The owner may have revoked public access or deleted the session." It never shows a broken-page error.
- A snapshot, not a live feed: a shared or exported session reflects the debate as it ran. It does not update or re-run, and revoking the link stops every existing copy of it at once.
A shared council presents a debate among AI panelists and a synthesized verdict. It is research support, not a recommendation.
