Run your first council

This quickstart takes you from opening the War Room to reading your first verdict. The War Room is the multi-agent council inside the AI Console: you pose a question, seat a panel of AI panelists at a round table, and watch them debate it in rounds before a host writes a closing synthesis. It is available on the Pro plan and above and is rolling out to eligible members in waves. Follow the single path below for a first run, then branch into the deeper pages when you want to tune the panel.

Before you begin

  • Use a Pro plan or above. Free and Pro Lite cannot open the War Room, and the live tier table shows what each plan includes.
  • Keep enough GNG credits for a session. Every session draws down your balance, and you set a spend cap before you start. See GNG credits.
  • Have at least one panelist ready to seat. A panelist is either a saved subagent from the AI Console or a one-time agent you create on the spot, so you do not need a subagent library to begin. To build a reusable one first, see Create a subagent.

Steps

  1. Open the War Room

Go to the AI Console and select the entry control labeled War Room. The room opens in the console workspace with a configuration rail on the left, numbered Topic, The Table, and Format, and a preview stage on the right.

  2. Enter your topic

In step 1, Topic, write the question you want the council to debate. A topic needs at least four characters. To fill it instantly, select one of the suggested questions under Try one. A clear, specific question produces a sharper debate than a vague one.

  3. Seat the table

In step 2, The Table, select Seat to open the seating dialog. Add saved subagents from the list, or select Add a one-time agent to create a panelist for this room only. Seat at least two. To let the platform assemble a balanced panel for you instead, use Design panel with AI under the topic box.

  4. Choose the format

Optional: in step 3, Format, set how the council argues. The defaults suit a first run: Debate mode, Sequential turns, one round, and the default spend cap. To change the mode, round style, or rounds, see Formats, modes, and settings.

  5. Start the session

Select Start session. From the topic box you can also start with Command and Enter, or Control and Enter, once the room is ready. Nothing is charged until the session begins.

  6. Read the verdict and synthesis

Watch each panelist take its turn on the stage, with a live readout of the round and the running spend in GNG credits. When the rounds finish, the host, GNG Analyst by default, closes the room. Read the Verdict for the one-line conclusion lifted to the top, then the Synthesis below it for the full reasoning. Then open Results for the full Deep Research Report. For a deeper tour of the live room, see The live room and the verdict.
