Community watchlists

Community watchlists is a searchable directory of watchlists other members have made public. You sort and filter the directory, like a list, open a list to see its tickers in a research table, and copy those tickers into one of your own lists. This page explains what the directory shows, how to read each figure, and how the sort options work. Every signed-in plan can browse and like lists; copying tickers into a personal list is reserved for paid plans.

Before you begin

  • Sign in. Browsing, searching, sorting, and liking are available to every signed-in plan.
  • To copy tickers from a public list into your own, you need a paid plan. To build the lists that receive copied tickers, see Watchlists.

Quickstart

  1. Open the directory

  2. Sort or filter

Choose a sort order, or narrow the directory with the strategy filter and the search box.

  3. Open a list

Select a list to see its tickers in a research table, the author, and any public notes.

  4. Copy tickers

On a paid plan, select one or more tickers and copy them into one of your own lists.

What it shows

  • A header with a search box and sort controls.
  • Sort options: Most Liked, Newest, Most Tickers, and Recently Updated.
  • A strategy filter that narrows the directory to lists carrying chosen strategy tags.
  • A results table: watchlist name and description, author, ticker count, like count, strategy tags, and when the list was last updated.
  • A sidebar with related discovery content.
  • A detail view for a single public list: its tickers in a research table, the author, a like button, a copy-link action, public notes from the author, and a control to copy selected tickers into one of your own lists.

Inputs

  • Search: free text matched against the list name, the author's full name, and the author's username. Empty by default.
  • Sort: one of Most Liked (the default), Newest, Most Tickers, or Recently Updated.
  • Strategy tags: zero or more tags chosen from the platform's tag set. None by default.
  • Page size: 10, 20 (the default), or 50 results per page.
  • Ticker selection (on a detail view): one or more tickers to copy. Copying requires a plan that allows it.

Outputs and how to read them

  • Watchlist name and description: what the list is about, as written by its author.
  • Author: the member who created the list, shown by username or display name.
  • Tickers: how many symbols the list holds.
  • Likes: how many members have liked the list. A higher count signals broader interest, not quality.
  • Tags: the strategy labels the author applied, useful for filtering.
  • Updated: how long ago the author last changed the list.
  • In the detail view, the ticker table shows the same research columns as your own watchlists, so price, rating, yield, and the like read the same way.

How it is calculated

The directory orders lists by the sort you choose. No price math is unique to this surface.

  • Most Liked orders by the list's like count, highest first.
  • Newest orders by when the list was created, most recent first.
  • Most Tickers orders by the number of symbols in the list, largest first.
  • Recently Updated orders by when the list was last changed, most recent first.

The like count is a simple total of distinct member likes. Liking again removes your like. There is no weighting or decay. The per-stock figures in a detail view are the platform's standard research values and are defined in the Research terminal documentation.

Data and timing

The directory listing (names, authors, tickers, likes, tags, and update times) reflects member activity in near real time, cached briefly for performance. The per-stock columns inside a detail view come from the platform's research data on AlphaVantage market data, with Nasdaq quotes delivered through AlphaVantage, on the normal end-of-day cycle.

Use cases

  • Discover how other members group stocks around a strategy, such as dividend growth or value.
  • Find the most-liked lists to see what the community is watching.
  • Copy a set of tickers from a public list into your own watchlist as a research starting point.
  • Share a link to a public list with someone else.

Tier access

Browsing, searching, sorting, and liking are open to every signed-in plan. Copying tickers into a personal list is disabled for Free plans and enabled for paid plans, per the live feature settings. The current plans and what each includes are shown below.

The live plan details are shown on the pricing page in the application.

Limitations and disclosures

Detail views show ratings and valuation figures, so the standard disclosure applies. A community list reflects one member's choices and is not a recommendation.
