Navigate the platform

This page is a complete map of how you move around GNG Research. It documents the top navigation bar and every destination it opens, the global stock search, the AI Console and community chat buttons, the notifications bell, the account menu, the mobile menu, and the in-app Getting Started hub. With these, you can reach any feature in one or two clicks on desktop or mobile. Navigation is visible to every signed-in member, but each destination enforces its own access by plan.

Before you begin

Sign in to your account. Signed-out visitors see a reduced menu and sign-in prompts.
Know that some destinations require a higher plan. A locked item shows an upgrade prompt or a "coming soon" message rather than opening.

The top navigation bar

The top bar is always present, on every page. Select the GNG logo to return to your dashboard when you are signed in, or to the home page when you are signed out.

The bar changes based on whether you are signed in.

Signed out: the bar shows Products, the dropdown menus for Research, Portfolios, Screeners, Tools, and More Info, a Getting Started link, and the Log In and Create Account buttons.
Signed in: the bar shows Dashboard in place of Products, the same five dropdown menus, a Getting Started link, the global search box, the AI Console button, the community chat button, the notifications bell, and the account menu.

Every dropdown destination

Each top-bar dropdown groups related destinations. Select a dropdown to reveal its links. The full set is listed in the following sections.

Research

Articles: the analyst article library.
Top Picks: curated Analyst Top Picks. Top Picks and premium research are available on Pro and above.
Community Watchlists: shared watchlists you can browse.

Staff accounts also see article-management links in this menu. Those pages are internal and are not covered in this documentation.

Portfolios

My Portfolio: your tracked holdings, by manual entry or a securely connected brokerage account.
Model Portfolios: curated portfolios maintained by the analyst team. Available on Pro and above.

Screeners

Research Terminal: the equity screener over thousands of covered companies.
Options Screener: a screener for options contracts, available on Pro.
Earnings Calendar: upcoming and recent earnings dates.
Insider Trading: insider buying and selling activity, available on Pro Lite and Pro.

Tools

BackTester: test a strategy against historical data.
Monte Carlo Forecasting: project a range of outcomes through simulation.
Dividend Forecaster: project future dividend income. Available on Pro Lite and Pro.
Portfolio Optimizer: coming soon for all non-staff members. It appears in the menu but opens a "coming soon" message.
My Watchlists: your personal watchlists.

Find a company with global search

The global search box sits in the top bar when you are signed in. Use it to jump straight to any covered company.

Open the search box
Select the global search box in the top bar.
Type a ticker or company name
Enter at least two characters. The search matches on both the ticker symbol and the company name.
Open the result
Select a result to open that stock page directly.

The AI Console, chat, and notifications buttons

Three buttons in the top bar open the platform's assistant, the community, and your alerts.

AI Console: select this button to open the research assistant. Ask questions in plain language and get answers grounded in the platform's data.
Community chat: select this button to open the community chat room in a new tab if your plan allows. The community chat is available on Pro and above. Free and Pro Lite members see an upgrade prompt, and if the room is down for maintenance you see a maintenance message instead.
Notifications bell: select the bell to open your notifications feed. A badge shows your unread count and displays "99+" above 99.

The account menu

Open the account menu from the top bar to manage your account and appearance. It contains the following items.

Profile: your member profile and personal details.
Support: help and contact options.
Settings: your notification preferences.
Billing & Plans: your current plan, checkout, and plan changes.
Theme: select Light, Dark, or System. Your choice persists across sessions.
A portal link to a staff area, shown only to staff roles. This area is internal and is not covered in this documentation.
Sign Out: end your session.

Navigate on mobile

On a small screen, the dropdowns collapse into a single menu. Open the mobile menu to reach the same destinations in a stacked layout, including the dropdown groups, the search, the AI Console, the community chat, the notifications, and the account items. Every destination enforces the same access rules as on desktop.

The in-app Getting Started hub

The in-app Getting Started hub collects step-by-step guides for the major features, including the Research Terminal, the analytical tools, stock search and Top Picks, the dashboard, portfolios, articles and community, and your account. Each guide has a checklist, screenshots, tips, and answers to common questions. The hub is open to everyone.

How to read locked items and badges

Navigation produces no financial figures. Two interface signals are worth understanding.

A locked menu item tells you the destination needs a higher plan or is not yet live. Instead of opening, it shows an upgrade prompt or a "coming soon" message.
The notifications badge is a count of items you have not opened. Selecting an item opens the related page and clears that notification.

Access by tier

Navigation itself is visible to every signed-in member, but each destination checks your plan. The following examples describe access in neutral terms. For exact current limits, see Plans and tiers.

Open to Free, Pro Lite, and Pro: the dashboard, Research Terminal, Articles, BackTester, Monte Carlo, Watchlists, Community Watchlists, Analysts, and stock pages.
Pro Lite and Pro: Portfolio Hedging, Dividend Forecaster, Insider Trading, and connected brokerage accounts.
Pro: community chat, Options Screener, Top Picks, Model Portfolios, GNG Scoring and Valuation, and Company Report. Free and Pro Lite do not include access to these features.
Coming soon for all non-staff members: the Portfolio Optimizer and the Methodology page. They appear in the menu but open a "coming soon" message.

Data and timing

This is not market data. Navigation and menus respond instantly. Search results draw on the same company universe as the rest of the platform, with fundamentals from AlphaVantage and Nasdaq quotes delivered through AlphaVantage. Notification counts update in near real time.
