Join the community chat
This page walks you through opening the community chat and signing in. You use your existing GNG account, so there is no separate community account to create. Joining the chat is a Pro feature: on Free and Pro Lite accounts, the chat button opens an upgrade card instead.
Before you begin
- Sign in on a Pro account. The community chat is available to Pro accounts and to the Platinum and Enterprise plans above Pro. On Free and Pro Lite accounts, the chat button opens an upgrade card. See Tier access.
- Have your GNG account email and password ready. You sign in to the chat with the same credentials you use for GNG.
Quickstart
Find the chat button
On desktop, locate the speech-bubble icon in the top navigation bar. On mobile, open the navigation menu and find Community Chat.
Open the chat
Select or tap the button. If your plan includes the chat, the community space opens in a new tab.
Sign in if asked
If the space asks you to sign in, enter the same email and password you use for your GNG account. There is no separate account to create.
Browse and post
Once inside, browse the available rooms, introduce yourself, and start reading or posting.
What it shows
- The chat button, a speech-bubble icon on desktop and a Community Chat item in the mobile menu, opens the community space in a new tab for members with access.
- On a phone, a dedicated, simplified sign-in screen appears if the normal sign-in does not load. It shows the GNG logo, an email field, and a password field, and signs you straight into the chat. It also offers a link to open the chat in your browser and a link to create an account for anyone new to GNG.
- If your plan does not include the chat, selecting the button opens an upgrade card instead. The card explains that the community chat is part of the Pro plan and links to billing.
Inputs
- Email: your GNG account email, the address on your subscription. No default.
- Password: your GNG account password. No default.
On the dedicated phone sign-in screen, both fields are required before the Sign in button works. If you submit too many times in a row, the screen asks you to wait about a minute and try again.
Outputs and how to read them
After a successful sign-in, you are taken into the community chat. Read the on-screen response to know what to do next:
- If you see "Invalid email or password," recheck your GNG credentials.
- If you see a "too many attempts" message, wait about a minute before trying again.
- If you see the upgrade card rather than a sign-in screen, your plan does not include the chat yet.
How it is calculated
Not applicable. Joining is an access and sign-in flow with no math.
Data and timing
Sign-in uses your existing GNG account, so it reflects your current subscription immediately. Whether the chat button opens the chat or an upgrade card is decided the moment you select it, based on your plan at that time.
Use cases
- Open the community for the first time as a new Pro member and introduce yourself.
- Use the simplified phone sign-in screen when the normal sign-in does not load.
- See the upgrade card on a Free or Pro Lite account and decide whether to move to Pro.
- Return to the chat in a fresh tab and be signed in because you are already logged in to GNG.
Tier access
Joining the community chat is available to Pro members and to the Platinum and Enterprise plans above Pro. On Free and Pro Lite accounts, the chat button opens an upgrade card and joining is not available. The current plans and what each includes are shown below.
