Overview
The community chat is a live discussion space where Pro members and GNG analysts talk through markets, earnings, and ideas together. You open it from the chat button in the top navigation, and it runs in its own browser tab, separate from the main application. This page explains what the space contains, how you reach it, and which plans can use it. The community chat is a Pro feature; Free and Pro Lite accounts see an upgrade prompt instead.
What it shows
The community chat is a live discussion space, separate from the main application, that opens in a new browser tab. You reach it from a single control:
- On desktop, a chat button (a speech-bubble icon) sits in the top navigation bar.
- On mobile, a Community Chat item appears in the navigation menu.
What the button does depends on your plan:
- For members with access, selecting the button opens the community chat directly.
- For members without access, selecting the button opens an upgrade prompt instead of the chat. See Tier access.
- If the space is temporarily down for upkeep, a short maintenance notice appears instead, telling you it will be back shortly.
Inside the space you find:
- Rooms (channels) organized by sector, strategy, and event.
- Real-time messages from other members and from GNG analysts.
- Replies, direct messages, and reactions.
Analyst messages are visually marked, so you can tell a GNG team member apart from another subscriber.
Inputs
This overview takes no data entry. The only control is the chat button itself, which either opens the community chat or shows an upgrade prompt based on your plan.
Outputs and how to read them
The chat button is your single entry point, and its behavior tells you your access at a glance:
- If it opens the community space, you have access.
- If it opens an upgrade card, your current plan does not include the chat yet.
There are no figures or scores to read on this overview.
How it is calculated
Not applicable. The community chat carries member conversation and contains no calculated metrics.
Data and timing
The content is member-written and analyst-written messages, delivered live. No market data, valuation, or rating is produced here. Messages appear in real time as people post them, and keeping the tab open keeps you current.
Use cases
- Watch how analysts and other members react to an earnings print as it happens.
- Ask the team a question you would otherwise hold back, in a space where they answer.
- Follow position-change chatter and event discussion without leaving your research workflow.
- Meet other members and find rooms that match the sectors or strategies you follow.
Tier access
The community chat is available to Pro members and to the Platinum and Enterprise plans that sit above Pro. Free and Pro Lite accounts do not have access: for those plans, the chat button opens an upgrade prompt rather than the chat. The current plans and what each includes are shown below.
