Saved runs and comparison
Every finished run is saved automatically, so you can reopen it, rerun it with tweaks, export it, or line several runs up side by side. This page covers the History view and the compare workflow. The tool is available to Free, Pro Lite, and Pro accounts.
Before you begin
- Run at least one simulation, so History has something to show. For the procedure, see Run your first simulation.
- Open your run history. Comparison needs at least two saved runs.
Steps
Work with saved runs in History
The History view lists your most recent runs, up to 50, in a table with the run name, date, a configuration summary, a status indicator (completed or failed), and the compute time. From each row, you can do the following.
Open a run
Select Open to reload the run's full report in the main panel.
Export a run
Select Export to download the run as a spreadsheet for offline analysis or sharing.
Run a saved configuration again
Select Run again to load the run's configuration back into the setup panel, where you can tweak any setting and rerun.
Rename a run
Select Rename to edit the name inline. Names must be unique.
Delete a run
Select Delete to remove the run.
Compare two to five runs
Compare overlays two to five saved runs so you can read which scenario trends higher and which carries wider uncertainty.
Select the runs to compare
In History, use Select to mark the runs you want, then choose Compare. You can also open compare from the Compare button and pick runs there.
Read the comparison view
The comparison view opens with the overlaid chart and the summary sections described below.
Add or remove a run
Use the per-run controls to add another saved run or remove one, up to the five-run limit.
Export the comparison
Select Export to download the whole comparison as a spreadsheet.
Outputs
What the comparison view shows
The compare view at the comparison route presents the following sections.
- Comparison notes: automatic warnings when the selected runs differ in ways that make them less directly comparable, for example different horizons or starting capital.
- Scenarios: a card per run with its key settings, plus controls to add or remove a run.
- Key Insights: plain-language callouts generated from the runs, such as the median-return spread, which run is safest by loss probability, downside protection in the worst 5 percent, upside potential in the best 5 percent, the best risk-adjusted return, and any severe drawdown warning.
- Configuration Diff: a side-by-side of what differs between the runs.
- Outcome Range: a percentile comparison table.
- Projected Paths: the overlaid chart of each run's median path and ranges. For how to read it, see Charts and graphs.
- Detailed Metrics: a full metric-by-metric comparison table.
- Export: download the whole comparison as a spreadsheet.
How to read a comparison
Read the Key Insights first for the plain-language summary, then confirm any callout against the Detailed Metrics table. Check the Comparison notes before drawing conclusions: a higher median means little if the two runs use different horizons or starting capital. On the overlaid chart, a higher line is a better median outcome and a wider band is more uncertainty.
Limitations and disclosures
Comparisons are only meaningful when the runs share a horizon, a starting capital, and a basket, which is why the view flags mismatches. Each run is a modeled projection, so the comparison reflects model assumptions rather than guaranteed outcomes, and real markets can move outside the simulated range.
