Transactions

The Transactions tab shows the activity behind holdings and cash. Free, Pro Lite, and Pro can review their manual portfolios; connected brokerage accounts require Pro Lite or Pro. The controls depend on whether you select a manual portfolio, a connected account, or Combined View.

Before you begin

  • Open Portfolios and select the portfolio to inspect.
  • To edit a manual transaction, select the individual manual portfolio you own.
  • For combined activity, first choose the portfolios to include.

Quickstart

  1. Select a portfolio and open Transactions.
  2. Use the controls for that view, described below.
  3. Read the transaction's date, type, security, and amount.
  4. For a correction, open the owning manual portfolio and use the eligible transaction's edit action.
  5. After a change, wait for recalculation and review holdings and cash.

What it shows

Manual portfolio

The table shows Date, Type, Status, Symbol, Shares, Price, Fee, and Amount, where applicable. Status can include edit information and notes. Dividend and reinvestment entries have additional labels; canceled activity is visually distinguished.

Connected brokerage account

The table shows Date/Time, Symbol, Type, Shares, Price, Amount, and Fees. A precise time appears when supplied with the transaction. Rows can also show the security name, option identity, or a cancellation label.

Combined View

The combined table shows Date, Portfolio, Symbol, Type, Shares, Price, and Amount. The Portfolio column identifies the account that owns each record. It lists the loaded activity most recent first and reports any portfolio whose transactions could not load.

Inputs

Filter and page through manual activity

Use Filter by symbol and All Years to narrow the history. Open Advanced or Advanced Filters, depending on the layout, to choose Transaction types, Date range, Amount range, Sort column, and Sort direction. Select Apply Filters to apply those choices. Use Clear or Reset All Filters to remove them.

Select Date or Amount in the table to change sorting. Use the page controls and page-size choices to move through the filtered history.

Filter and page through connected activity

Use Search symbol, name, or description and All Types. Type choices include buys, sells, options, dividends, deposits, transfers, and fees. Select Date/Time, Symbol, Type, or Amount to sort.

Search, type filtering, and sorting apply to the currently loaded page. Use the previous and next arrows to inspect other pages. This view uses a fixed page size and has no manual date-range or amount-range filter.

Extend the combined list

Use Load more when it appears to include more activity from the selected portfolios. Read Showing for the loaded and total counts. The combined view has no search, manual filters, selectable sort, or page-size control.

Add or correct manual activity

In a manual portfolio you own, use Add Transaction. Choose Buy Stock, Sell Stock, Deposit Cash, or Withdraw Cash, then complete the displayed fields.

An eligible manual transaction has edit and delete actions. Open Edit transaction to review its details before saving, or read the delete confirmation before confirming its portfolio effect. Combined View is read-only: return to the owning manual portfolio to make the change.

Brokerage-supplied transactions are read-only. Resolve an incorrect record with the connected account rather than adding a second manual copy.

Outputs and how to read them

A deposit or withdrawal changes recorded cash. A buy or sell also changes a holding. Use the transaction type and source portfolio to interpret the amount.

CSV imports can add backing deposits when imported buys would overdraw recorded cash. Review the reported extra-deposit count and reconcile the cash history as described in Import transactions from CSV. Those entries do not transfer real money.

Data and timing

Manual changes recalculate holdings, cash, gains, and returns. Wait for completion before judging those results. Connected activity reflects the history received from the brokerage; Combined View reflects the included portfolios and loaded records.

Use cases

  • Find a manual trade by date, symbol, or amount.
  • Review a connected account's reported activity.
  • Identify which portfolio owns a record in a combined history.

Limitations and disclosures

The portfolio depends on accurate transaction chronology. Editing an old trade can affect later holdings and performance. These controls record activity; they do not place trades.
