Combined View and Research
Combined View lets you review selected portfolios together, while Research opens their eligible stock holdings in the Research Terminal. Free, Pro Lite, and Pro can use these views with the portfolios available to their account. Connected brokerage accounts require Pro Lite or Pro, and portfolio limits vary by plan.
Before you begin
- Have more than one portfolio available to use Combined View.
- Check which portfolios you want to include.
- Include eligible stock holdings to use Research.
Quickstart
- Open Portfolios and choose Combined View from the portfolio picker.
- Open the combined picker and check your choices under Include portfolios.
- Review the combined figures and holdings.
- Select Research, then choose a research view.
- Confirm the company set and view name in the Research Terminal.
What it shows
The selected portfolios determine the combined figures, holdings, and activity. Combined View does not merge accounts or transfer holdings.
The combined Transactions tab includes a Portfolio column and lists loaded activity most recent first. Use Load more to extend it. It is read-only and does not offer the manual transaction filters. See Transactions for the differences between views.
Inputs
Choose portfolios
Open the combined picker. Under Include portfolios, check or uncheck the portfolios to include. To return to one portfolio, select Exit Combined View, then choose that portfolio.
Choose a research view
Select Research in the portfolio tab strip, then choose View All Holdings, Quality & Safety, Valuation, Growth & Returns, or Dividend Analysis.
Outputs and how to read them
The Research Terminal opens with the selected portfolios' eligible stock symbols and the chosen view. Review the company set before adding filters. You are screening those holdings, not modifying the portfolios.
Cash and option positions are not stock-screening candidates. If no eligible symbols exist, the Research action is unavailable.
Data and timing
Combined figures depend on the included portfolios and their available data. The Research Terminal uses its current research information. After editing an individual manual portfolio, wait for recalculation before interpreting the combined result.
Use cases
- Review several portfolios as one selected set.
- Open those holdings in a valuation or dividend screen.
- Identify the owning portfolio before correcting a manual transaction.
Limitations and disclosures
Add or edit a transaction in the individual manual portfolio that owns it. Do not enter the same investment twice in different portfolios unless you intend to count both.
