Generated documents

Ask the assistant in plain English for a file and it designs and builds one inside the conversation: a PDF report, a PowerPoint deck, a Word document, or an Excel workbook. The finished file appears as a document card at the end of the reply with a download control, and every document you generate is kept in your Library. This capability follows AI Console access, so Free, Pro Lite, and Pro can use it, with usage metered in GNG credits.

Before you begin

  • Sign in to your account. Document generation runs inside the AI Console.
  • Have the analysis conversation first, or ask for the file and its contents in a single message. The assistant gathers the data with its normal tools before it builds the file.
  • Keep some GNG credits available. A successful document spends a small usage-based amount. See GNG credits.

Quickstart

  1. Ask for the file

In the chat, name the format and what the document should contain, for example "Turn this into a client-ready PDF with a cover and the comparison chart".

  2. Watch the reply build it

The reply gathers the data and composes the file. Progress streams in the answer while the document is assembled.

  3. Download from the card

When the document finishes, select Download on the document card at the end of the reply. The download opens in a new tab, so the chat stays where it is.

  4. Find it later in the Library

Every generated document is saved to your Library, so you can reopen or re-download it without finding the original chat.

What it shows

A generated document surfaces as a card in the conversation, and the finished file is stored for later. The pieces are described in the following sections.

The document card

When a document finishes, a card appears at the end of the assistant's reply. It shows a format icon, the document's title, a meta line with the format and file size, and a Download control. Selecting Download opens the file in a new tab, so the chat never navigates away. The card sits at the end of the reply that produced it.

Where documents live afterward

Every generated document is saved to your Library. You can reopen or re-download it there later without returning to the chat that produced it. See the Library page.

Excel workbooks

Excel workbooks carry real, working formulas rather than pasted values. Totals, growth rates, ratios, and cross-tab references recalculate when you edit the inputs. A model typically includes an assumptions tab with clearly styled input cells and named values, and, where you ask for them, a scenario selector and built-in check rows. Large multi-tab models are built in stages, so a workbook can grow to dozens of tabs across one request.

The credits line

The usage line under the answer carries what the turn cost, the same way it does for any other answer. See GNG credits.

Inputs

Your input is a plain-English request. Useful things to specify:

  • The format: say report, memo, or write-up for a PDF or Word document; deck, slides, or presentation for PowerPoint; spreadsheet, workbook, or export for Excel. You can also name the format directly.
  • The content: the analysis, figures, and sections the document should carry.
  • The look (PDF especially): the audience, the tone, and any design direction. Documents are designed to your request: typography, color, covers, and layout follow what you ask for. A dark or a light treatment are both available, and GNG branding is applied only when you ask for it.
  • Images inside the document: ask for generated images to be included, for example a cover image or section art. The assistant creates the images first, then embeds them. Up to eight images per document. Excel workbooks do not take images.

Outputs and how to read them

  • The document card is the deliverable. Download it from the card, or later from your Library.
  • The title on the card is the document's name. The meta line shows the format and the file size.
  • If generation fails, the assistant explains the failure in the reply and nothing is charged. It retries once on its own before explaining.

How it is calculated

Document generation carries no scoring formula. It is metered on usage: a successful document debits a small usage-based amount of GNG credits, shown in the answer's credits line, and the amount scales with the document's length and file size. A failed attempt costs nothing. The figures inside a document come from the same data tools as any chat answer, and each analysis is documented on its matching feature page.

Data and timing

Documents are built from the platform's stored data at the moment you ask: market data through AlphaVantage (Nasdaq quotes delivered through AlphaVantage), company filings from EDGAR, and your own portfolio and saved knowledge where relevant. A generated document is a snapshot. It does not update itself after it is created.

Use cases

  • Turn a finished research thread into a client-ready PDF with a cover and charts.
  • Ask for a slide deck that summarizes a comparison you just ran.
  • Export a valuation model to Excel with live formulas you can edit.
  • Generate a one-pager on a holding before a meeting.

Limitations and disclosures

A document is a file, not a live view: the numbers inside are as of generation time. Very large requests can take a while, and the reply streams progress while the file is assembled. Excel workbooks do not include images. Every document presents research output, so the standard disclosure applies.
