This quickstart takes you from an empty AI Console to your first answer. You open the console, type a question or pick a ready-made example, and read the response as it streams in. It is written for a new member on any plan: Free, Pro Lite, and Pro accounts all reach a first answer the same way, with usage metered by GNG Credits.

Before you begin

  • Sign in to your account. The console runs once you are signed in.
  • Note that every answer draws down GNG Credits. To understand the meter, see GNG credits.

Quickstart

  1. Open the AI Console

Go to the AI Console. The welcome state, titled GNG Analyst, shows six ready-made example prompts.

  2. Choose a model and reasoning depth (optional)

Near the message box, set the Model and the Reasoning depth. Out of the box the model is a small, lower-cost option and the depth is Medium. Higher depth lets the assistant think longer and generally costs more credits.

  3. Type a question or pick an example

Enter your question in the message box, or select one of the six example prompts to send it as your first message.

  4. Send the message

Select the send control. The answer streams in as text.

  5. Read the answer and its widgets

Read the streamed answer. When the question involves figures, the assistant attaches a visual widget you can read inline. The credits row appears under the finished answer.

Inputs

  • Message: free text, your question or instruction. No default.
  • Model: selected from the available model list. Defaults to your saved default, which is a small, lower-cost model out of the box.
  • Reasoning depth: Low, Medium, High, or Max. Defaults to Medium. Higher settings let the assistant think longer before answering and generally cost more credits.
  • Example prompts: the welcome state shows suggestions that vary by plan. Selecting one sends it as your first message. The following are paraphrased example research tasks, not exact interface quotations:
    1. Explain portfolio tracking choices and brokerage connections.
    2. Backtest a mix of stocks and prepare a report of the results.
    3. Review public company filings for risks and growth catalysts.
    4. Compare two companies' valuation, margins, and growth.
    5. Screen covered companies for dividend income and valuation criteria.
    6. Review holdings alongside recent news and available research.
  • Slash commands: type /help to see what the assistant can do, or /tools to list the live data it can pull. These show information only and do not consume credits.

Outputs and how to read them

The answer streams in as text. While it forms, a thinking indicator shows, and any chart or table appears inline. When the question involves figures, the assistant attaches a widget you read inline. The credits row appears under the finished answer, showing the GNG Credits that answer consumed; expand it to see the cost breakdown and a numbered list of the steps the answer ran. Your first message also creates a new chat automatically, which appears in the sidebar with a title set from the conversation. The figures inside an answer are produced by the platform's data tools, documented on the relevant feature pages.

Data and timing

Answers draw on the same live data as the rest of the console, sourced from AlphaVantage (with Nasdaq quotes delivered through AlphaVantage) and from EDGAR for public company filings. Figures are current to the platform's normal refresh schedule, so they match what you see elsewhere on the site at the same moment.

Use cases

  • Start from a suggested prompt to learn the kinds of questions that work well.
  • Ask a quick question about one ticker and read the answer in seconds.
  • Begin a portfolio review by asking about year-to-date performance.

Limitations and disclosures

A first answer can contain valuations, sentiment, or backtest results. Treat the output as research, not a recommendation. The exact credits an answer costs depend on the model, the reasoning depth, and how many tools it uses, so the same question can cost different amounts on different settings.
