Share a chat

Sharing a chat creates a read-only link to one of your conversations that any signed-in member can open. The viewer reads a clean transcript and sees your widgets, with portfolio, backtest, and Monte Carlo results frozen as a snapshot from the moment you shared. This page walks through making a chat public, copying and refreshing the link, and revoking it. Sharing is available to any signed-in member who can use the AI Console, on the Free, Pro Lite, and Pro plans.

Before you begin

  • Sign in to your account. Sharing runs inside the AI Console.
  • Open the chat you want to share. The chat must be a settled, non-empty, regular chat. The share action is hidden while a reply is still streaming and is hidden for incognito chats.

Steps

  1. Open the share dialog

From the chat header or the per-chat menu in the sidebar, select Share. The "Share this chat" dialog opens as a modal on desktop or a bottom sheet on mobile.

  2. Make the chat public

Turn on the Make public toggle. The console freezes a snapshot of the current results, then mints the link. A short progress line shows while the snapshot is captured.

  3. Copy the link

Select Copy to put the share link on your clipboard. Send it to anyone you want to view the chat.

  4. Optional: refresh the shared data

After the underlying data changes, select Refresh shared data to re-freeze the current results so the shared view reflects them.

  5. Optional: revoke the link

Turn the toggle off to revoke. Confirm at the "Revoke the public link?" prompt. Anyone holding the link loses access immediately.

Outputs

  • The share link: a single unguessable URL. It is not anonymous-readable. A logged-out person who opens it is asked to sign in first, then returned to the shared chat.
  • The read-only conversation: the same message bubbles you see, minus error turns and tool plumbing, so the viewer reads a clean transcript. Viewers cannot type, send, regenerate, or continue the chat, and they do not see a credit footer or any owner-only controls.
  • Frozen results: portfolio, backtest, Monte Carlo, and generated-image widgets render from the snapshot taken when you shared or last refreshed, not live. Read a frozen widget as "this is what the owner saw when they shared", not "this is live now".
  • Live reference widgets: price, company, earnings, ratings, screener, and technical widgets render from current data instead, since they are public reference rather than your private results.
  • Excluded content: uploaded files are not included in a share. A short note appears to the viewer if the original chat had files that were left out.
  • Revoked link: a revoked or unknown link shows a "no longer available" state.

The shared snapshot is a one-time copy of your own private results captured in your session at share time, which is why a viewer can see results that would otherwise be private to you. No GNG scoring formula is exposed; any GNG ratings in the chat stay on their published scales.

Tier access

Sharing is not tier-gated. Generating a link requires being the chat owner, which any tier that can use the AI Console can do. Viewing a shared link requires only that the viewer be signed in to GNG, on any tier including Free. The viewer route does not require a paid subscription.

Limitations and disclosures

A shared chat reproduces analyst output and results to a second reader, so it is research, not a recommendation. Frozen widgets reflect the data as it stood at share or refresh time and do not update on their own. Treat the link as sensitive until you revoke it.
