What it shows
Two things make the research framing visible: the article itself and the disclosures at the end.
- The research framing: articles express the author's own analysis and opinions about companies and markets, not personalized advice.
- An author disclosures block at the end of an article, present where the author has certified it.
- The platform's standing disclosure, which applies to all research.
The author disclosures block can include the following items.
- The author's position in the companies discussed: a long position, a short position, both, no position with no plans to open one in the next 72 hours, or a stated intent to possibly open a long or short position within 72 hours.
- A statement that the author wrote the article themselves and it expresses their own opinions.
- A compensation statement: not compensated, not compensated other than by the platform, or compensated as described.
- A business-relationship statement: either no business relationship with any company mentioned, or the relationship described.
- Any additional disclosure the author chose to add.
- A certification line naming the author and the date certified.
Outputs and how to read them
