Passkeys

A passkey lets you sign in using your device's unlock method instead of typing your account password. Add and manage passkeys from Profile on Free, Pro Lite, or Pro. A supported browser and device are required.

Before you begin

  • Sign in to the account you want to use and open Profile.
  • Select Passkeys in the profile navigation.
  • Keep another working sign-in method available before removing a passkey.

Quickstart

  1. Select Add Passkey.
  2. Follow the device's prompts to create the passkey.
  3. Wait for Passkey added and check that the new entry appears.
  4. Select Rename if you want a name that identifies the device or use.

What it shows

Each entry shows its name and added date. A last-used date appears when available. No passkeys yet means the loaded list is empty.

If the browser is unsupported, the page shows This browser does not support passkeys instead of Add Passkey. Use a supported browser to add one.

Inputs

Sign in with a passkey

  1. Open the sign-in page.
  2. Select Sign In with a Passkey when it is available.
  3. Complete any security check and the device's sign-in prompt.
  4. Continue to the page you were opening or your dashboard.

The sign-in control is only shown in a supported browser. Use a passkey already added to this account and available on your device.

Rename a passkey

  1. Select Rename beside the entry.
  2. Enter a non-empty Passkey name.
  3. Select Save, or Cancel to leave the name unchanged.

Remove a passkey

  1. Select Remove beside the entry.
  2. Read Remove this passkey? and confirm that you selected the intended entry.
  3. Select Remove to confirm, or Cancel to keep it.

Removal prevents that passkey from signing in on any device where it is available, including devices it has synced to. Your password and other sign-in methods remain unaffected.

Outputs and how to read them

A confirmation reports when a passkey is added, renamed, or removed. These actions save separately from the profile's general save bar.

If the list shows Could not load your passkeys, select Retry. Do not interpret a failed load as an empty list. Other failed actions show an error message; read it before trying the action again.

Data and timing

The list refreshes after a successful change. Canceling or allowing a device prompt to time out does not complete the requested action. Check the list before attempting to add another entry.

Use cases

  • Sign in without entering your password on a supported device.
  • Give a saved passkey a recognizable name.
  • Remove a passkey you no longer want to use.

Limitations

Device prompts and available unlock methods vary. If Sign In with a Passkey is absent or sign-in fails, use another sign-in method already available to your account. Contact support if you cannot access the account.
