Options Chain

Options Chain shows recorded calls and puts for a company with options coverage. It is available to Free, Pro Lite, and Pro users.

Before you begin

Open a company page with options coverage.

Quickstart

  1. Expand Options Chain on the company page.
  2. Check Last updated and choose an Expiration.
  3. Select a call or put to inspect that contract's history.

What it shows

Calls appear on one side, puts on the other, with the strike between them. The ATM marker identifies the displayed strike nearest the stock price.

Outputs and how to read them

Chain columns

ColumnMeaning
LastThe recorded last traded option price.
Bid/AskThe recorded buying and selling quotes.
VolTrading volume in the observation.
OIOpen interest, the number of outstanding contracts.
IVImplied volatility, a measure derived from option pricing.
DeltaEstimated sensitivity to a change in the underlying stock price.

The compact mobile view shows fewer details at once. Open a contract for its history. Missing values or a missing call or put are unavailable observations, not zero-price offers.

Contract detail and history

Select a call or put to open its details. The heading identifies the symbol, type, strike, and expiration. The history summary states the first and last recorded dates.

Use Metric to chart Last Price, Mark, Bid, Ask, Implied Volatility, Volume, or Open Interest. Toggle Delta, Gamma, Theta, Vega, or Rho to inspect the available sensitivities.

  • Delta measures price sensitivity to the underlying.
  • Gamma describes how delta changes.
  • Theta describes sensitivity to time passing.
  • Vega describes sensitivity to implied volatility.
  • Rho describes sensitivity to interest rates.

Review Historical Data below the chart. Select Export CSV to download the contract's recorded history.

Data and timing

The chain and contract charts use recorded observations. Check their timestamps; they are not executable quotes. A contract's history may cover only part of its life.

Limitations and disclosures

Greeks are estimates and can change sharply. Wide spreads and low activity can make a displayed last price unrepresentative. The chain does not place an options trade.
