Runs
Run history records each execution of your workflows. Open a run to follow its progress, inspect step results, and understand the GNG credits used. Free, Pro Lite, and Pro can review runs belonging to their account.
Before you begin
- Create a workflow and start a test, manual, or automatic run.
- Open Workflows, then select Runs.
Quickstart
- Filter by workflow, run kind, status, or time window if needed.
- Select a run to open its detail.
- Select a step in the diagram or step list.
- Inspect Input, Output, duration, cost, and any explanation.
- Select Open workflow to return to the current editor.
What it shows
The run list
| Heading | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Time | When the run was created. |
| Workflow | The workflow that produced it. |
| Kind | Whether it started manually, through the assistant, as a test, on a schedule, or from an event. |
| Status | The run's progress or final outcome. |
| Credits | The recorded GNG credit cost. |
| Duration | Elapsed execution time. |
Run detail
The header shows the run's kind, timing, status, and GNG credits. Live indicates that work is still progressing. The diagram shows the steps from the version used by this run.
Select a step to expand its duration, cost, Input, and Output. On smaller screens, expanding the step reveals details that do not fit in its collapsed row. Output previews appear alongside the run's results.
If something fails, the page describes what went wrong and suggests a next action. Fix this node or Open the node returns to the affected step when it remains in the current workflow.
Inputs
Filter by All workflows or a particular workflow, Any kind or a run kind, and Any status or a specific outcome. The time window offers the last day, week, month, or All time. Widen the window or clear a filter when no runs match.
Open workflow opens the current editable version. It does not replace the record of the older run.
Outputs and how to read them
- A run waiting to start has not completed its work.
- Running means steps are still executing.
- Succeeded means the execution finished, but some paths may have been deliberately skipped.
- Failed means an error stopped the intended execution. Inspect the first failed step.
- Out of credits identifies a run that could not continue with the available balance.
- Canceled identifies a stopped execution.
An empty filtered list or an unchanged value can legitimately skip later work. A completed email step and a skipped email step have different meanings, even if the overall workflow succeeds.
Resume after running out of credits
An active workflow changes to Paused, out of credits when a run cannot continue because its credits run out. Adding credits alone does not resume automatic starts.
- Add GNG credits from the AI Console credits area.
- Reopen the workflow, using Open workflow from the stopped run or its name in Workflows.
- Turn Active on to reactivate automatic starts.
- After the next scheduled time or matching event, open Runs and confirm that the new execution completes.
Reactivation does not restart the stopped run. If you need a result before the next automatic start, use Run now and inspect that new execution.
How it is calculated
Duration measures elapsed time between the run's start and finish. GNG credits summarize metered work; each expanded step shows its own cost. During a live run, the displayed amount updates as work completes.
Data and timing
Each run retains the version it used. Editing the workflow later does not rewrite that execution's inputs or results. The history covers retained runs, so All time means all runs still available to your account.
Use cases
- Confirm a scheduled report completed.
- Locate the first failing step before changing the workflow.
- Check whether an email was skipped because no relevant content remained.
Limitations and disclosures
Test runs the draft, while Run now uses the published version. Event-trigger tests can contain sample event information. Read that information as a test example, not a market event that necessarily occurred.
